Dear Mom,
I will call you from the hotel if my cell phone is working. It has been having some problems. I think it is the battery.
Tide pens are definitely a lifesaver!
I will get in touch with Aunt Louise. I hope she is keeping her spirits up. Surgery is hard. I had to have a skin tag removed the other day and it was just at a regular appointment at the dermatologist. I was tired all night after that!
I might go see a movie tonight. It is Friday after all, and my friend Clark was wanting to do something. Maybe that new Ashton Kutcher movie. He's funny!
Hope to see you soon,
Bob

Robert,
I got your letter. You don't need to send them Fed-Ex. The Postal Service will be fine. We have a new mailman and he is just the nicest boy. Ex-military and still walks his rounds, if you can believe that.
So sorry to hear about your jeans, but glad you had that Tide pen. Those things are handy. I have one in all of my bags.
Be careful on your trip. Don't be afraid to call. We got a new cordless. I can use it all the way on the porch! Sometimes I sit out there and talk to my sister for hours. She just had hip surgery; you should give her a call to let her know you are thinking about her. It would make her day.
Your father says hello. LIL. (Did I use that right?)
Love,
Mom

Dear Mom,
Not much to say today. Nothing to write home about, anyway.
Had a decent cup of coffee this morning. Spilled a little bit on the jeans you got me for Christmas. Had a Tide pen handy though. Disaster averted.
Traffic was heavy, but I did catch most of the lights on the way to work. So that was nice.
Answered a few e-mails early and then planned a trip for work. Overnighter, so I will be staying in a hotel. It's next week. I will let you know when I get there.
I guess that's about it. Oh look, I'm still writing 2010 in my date lines. Wish I hadn't written that in pen now. LIL (Laughing in a Letter! HA!)
Your dear son,
